Im not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone here but I have never done an ounce of soldering in my life and it was so easy.
Theres 2 screws to take the motor out, then dab the soldering iron on the motor while pulling the red/black wire and the wire comes off. Get abit of solder on the end of the iron, and feed the contact of your wire on to the motor while warming it with the iron and it'll stick.
I know its personal preferance but i think waiting 5 minutes sucks. On the video on the very first post it looks to me like the author just pulls the disc out. Making it stop by forcing the white magnet down.
And surely Swapmagic PS3 1.0 would be for PS3 games which would mean buying a blu ray burner and discs = to about 20+ PS3 games or more.
I just like being able to flick a switch and load a backed up PS2 game or one of my PAL games (jap ps3 system) instead of having to slide the cover back (drill a huge hole to change the disc) and wait 5 minutes to stop it spinning. But im not getting at the people that prefer to wait, like I said, its just personal preferance.
Maybe a 'soft mod' will be available so you can just chuck any disc in any PS3 system and it will load. (Any region aming for PS2, DVD's, BluRays etc etc)
Cheers
