With working I meant that it boots, and as stated loads original ps2 games without opening the box or anything, just by pressing the eject button and replacing the disc. (tested with GTAIII)

Ok, I would like to try testing myself since I have some different region games. I can order SM 3.6 plus. Are you using swap magic 3.6 Plus or just 3.6 (not sure if there are 2 versions)? Did you try the cd and dvd disks? Did you try them on any firmware before 1.9? I´d appreciate any info.

I want to try this on my 20GB JPN model, but I have a DUMB question first, how do you get off the PS3 lid (where it's written playstation 3) ? I don't see any screws, even under the "stabilisators" below the console..

The disc says 3.6 plus; and it's the PAL DVD version that I used.

And no, I didn't try it on firmware under 1.9, though I think I may have booted the swapdisc once on 1.6 or 1.7 (long time ago), which booted, didn't try to swap the discs on those firmware's though.

I´ve received the SM 3.6 plus disks and a NTSC psx game. I´m sorry to say that although you can boot a same region original disk just by ejecting, switching with a different region game just freezes the screen. you can still hit the PS button to get back to the XMB. I tested from FW 1.5 to 1.8.

Breaker pro also boots up and you can press eject to switch with another psx game of the same region(fw 1.5 - 1.8) but also freezes when changing for a different region psx game :hitw

Unfortunately it seems everytime you insert a new disk it checks the region even though breakerpro or the SM disks have loaded first

Also Action replay2 (ps2+psx disks) and DVD region X did not work on 1.5 - 1.8.

i've done this i stripped apart my ps3 keeping the warranty seal in tact and gaind acces to the bd drive using the same trick with my ps2 i load a back up ps1 or ps2 game high toc i.e gta 3 once loaded onto the dash it passes copy checks then you have to wait 8 mins for the disc to stop spinning i believe this would work with a copy ps3 on a bd disc as all ps3 games are bluray, ps2 dvd, ps1 cd

guys i am using ps3 60gb i can play ps2 original games but i cant play copy games how can i play ps3 copy games i am using ps3 v.2.10
