THX to NDT for all your work on the NAND´s and to opening the PS3. Also THX to all other PS3 NEWS Devs who working hard on the PS3.

And im a newbie but with the flow rebuilder and the nand ecc tool data of the PS3 OS could be altered and new digital signed. Correct?

If i have understood right than till now this was the big problem to hack the PS3 OS. Together with the Infectus and this great tools some one should be able to get a CFW working on retail PS3.

Will we have a mary x-mas?

Ps3 custom firmware before xmas would be amazing.

Respect to sony though for keeping their console under such tight security this time round.

It's good to see such an interesting milestone in progress at this point. Now that the ECC algorithm has been figured out, it would seem that it is possible to modify and reintroduce code to the system. there is still plenty of work left to do as far as custom firmware would go, however it is interesting to note that they said that the locations of the encrypted keys for Packages, elfs and BDR drive pairings have been uncovered. While they did state the the locations have been uncovered, they did not say that they have been decrypted... again we are seeking for an algorithm.

If some one could hack the BD FW we would be able to put it into the PS3 FW and use the NAND ECC tool to digital sign it. Or maybe we could use this to get replacement drives to work in case of a FW differents. Grab the old BD FW put into the PS3 FW and use NAND ECC Tool.

What exactly is the BD Pairing? Is the drives firmware store in the flash and not directly on the drive?

If this is the case could a hacked BD drive firmware be close? I know media and burners are expensive still but its progress if it happens.
