Konami Patches MGS4 Trailer from E3 2006

Not long after announcing the Metal Gear 20th Anniversary Pack, Konami launched a http://www.konami.jp/gs/game/mg20th/index.html with all the pertinent details on the contents, in addition to trailers for the impending http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3140656 on PlayStation 3. Bizarrely, however, the company also went back and tweaked the trailer originally released at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2006.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=160355&page=5 members stumbled upon the changes, which includes fixing frame rate hiccups, tweaking lighting, adding new special effects and other small, but pleasing, cosmetic changes. The "remix" is http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/12108.

There was another, more subtle change: removal of PlayStation 3 branding near the end. OMG! Finally, proof that Kojima Productions has been porting the game to Xbox 360 all along!

Or, more likely, they've simply changed the credits page to fall in line with the later-released Tokyo Game Show 2006 trailer, which also doesn't feature the PS3 branding -- you can double-check the http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/6198.

Thanks to http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/1up/ALLPS3/content/~3/122798085/newsStory for sharing the news with us!

Hideo Koshima himself already announced that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will not be released on any other console then playstation 3. Too bad for the Xbox360 players...

fenghanshi is right. That would be a real proof for non-ps3 exclusivity.

Saying it and doing it are 2 different things. You never with these developers and their last minute changes. However I feel that it's better for sony to have it's share of exclusives and shouldn't change, if they expect to have a growing ps3 fanbase.

Konami have confirmed that they did not release this trailer, and someone has released it and added after effects (which is possible). So the Playstation 3 logo has been omitted most likely to create false rumours

Doesn't mean they released this video. Here's a couple of quotes from a GamesRadar article:

Quote:
Contrary to what you may have read elsewhere, Konami has not issued a 'remastered' or enhanced video of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots...Konami stressed to us that it has not released any new footage, and that we won't see anything of MGS4 until E3 2007 in July.

It can't get released on the xbox 360. kojima has already complained that 25gb isn't enough. do you really think they'll release a 10+ dvd disc set for the 360?

True it would be very difficult to have the same game and quality on multiple DVDs, especially if the game is non-linear, but 10+ DVDs is a little exaggerated, lol
