Hacked2123's PS3 Back-up Video!

Alright here is a small video 2min... of a loader in progress. The games boot but do not "run" yet but they will soon I am sure. It's better than nothing... and the most definitive proof that we will have a loader/homebrew in the near future. IT IS POSSIBLE

Once again I offer no guide till the project is done, but let it be known the flaw was the result of otheros.self on firmware version 1.10 and 1.11 (and maybe more). Today I successfully, as shown in this video, managed load a burn disk and have it be recognized in the area a PS3 game would be recognized. Much must be done, because as of yet the original will not boot, but when those complications are worked out, we will be one step closer to homebrew I hope.

Enjoy the video, and please my word is truth.. don't call me out, especially when I held true to playing BR Movies on the PS3 without the disk.

This is on Retail PS3 consoles, and as it states in the Site News currently the hole is present in Firmware v1.00-1.11 meaning the following: v1.00, v1.02, v1.10, and v1.11. :smile2

Thanks Hacked2123, for letting us know your progress, for the work you are doing for the scene and above all for not keeping it yourself. I really apreciate it, I wish all hackers were like you man ;-)

at least for now! just like PSP they found a hole in v1.0 then a memcard swap trick in 1.5 then a tiff exploit in 2.0 and 2.01 then GTA exploit in 2.5-2.6 then another tiff exploit in 2.7-2.81 then another exploit in GTA for 3.0-3.03 good things will come in time

Umm... ya. That is what the word "currently" means. At the time of the writing, it only works with v1.00-1.11 but needless to say if this hole isn't able to be used with newer Firmware revisions another will be found that will... just takes time. People with, for example, v1.80 FW may end up waiting longer than someone with v1.32 FW and so on.

Im running too high a version too but i have faith once we can mess around with the lower versions we can find a way into the newer versions.
