split won't work that great. But you could rip out the videos of the game.

Motorstorm is 3gb without the videos!

Thanks everyone for the support. I just filled in the other dev'ers with my conclusions to the exploitations found in this hole, and the ones that still can come to be found.

I have faith in one last option that is available, and we will fill you all in when it is discussed. AND to clarify the significance of this, can any of you do this through software alone, even if you tried with all your might? It very simply, IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE POSSIBLE.

Well that is what needs to be done anyway, because same as the PS2, it was cheaper to burn on CD at first because DVD burners were way too expensive, so now it is cheaper to burn on a DVD than buy a Blu-Ray Burner.

Anyway if something does come out of this exploit it is definitely possible to rip certain games down on to many DVDs. Especially if they are linear games.

You surely can rip them to the multiply DVDs but I would like to see you modifying the game code to actually LOAD the another stages of the game from multiply DVDs ...

If all this will be that far, it would be much easier to mount the full image from hard drive (either internal or external one).

I cant understand why blue ray is so expensive anyway, i mean 25gb a disc, or 50 maxed out, thats not alot of storage when you thing you can get a 400gb hdd for that. Im sure the prices will ldrop dramatically soon.

Great job on the find, i willl be pinned to the front page for the entire weekend.

apparantly ps2/psx backups do run, very well using the same method. after you have attempted to install otheros.self with the disguised format hdd self file. you will be redirected to the xmb. insert your first ps2 game (original) wait a second for it to load up. then eject and your game will still show up on the screen (ps2 format disk), insert another original ps2 game, wait a second. then eject and insert a backup dvd-r of one of your original ps2 games. then click on ps2 format disk, and the game will boot and RUN.

Can someone confirm please?

You don't have to modify code. I kinda don't understand what you are getting at here. All you have to do is make sure the first few levels are on the first DVD and the rest are dummied and then save on the last level, then on the second DVD you put the next few levels and dummy all the others and so on.

Same way I have been doing with PS2 games (ripping DVD to CDs) for the last 5 or 6 years.
