Question: Is it posible to build a pkg file with the sdk, with the content of the mkfs.self or something similar so that it is readable on a retail console? I mean if u code something with the sdk is it signed or not? If it is we could just make a pkg and install it via the proxy on our ps3...

I hadn't read the above posts and used simple assumption by reading the information regarding the exploit!! (on the main news page). Ie: it tells you right at the start about the format process and most of us would understand that it would be this that is creating the 'block'. BUT its good that GREAT MINDS think alike ;-)

I think there is something like the LBA. PS3 check if the launcher of the game is at the right LBA. And i think the LBA of the DVD can't be the same of a BluRay Disc. Somebody sould test this method with a BluRay disc. If we test with a BluRay Backup, this should help us to find the problem. ;-)

Another thought: Can someone scan the HD in 'special' Mode and compare the difference with 'normal' mode HD (this will provide interesting information for you!!) ;-)

Sonix is a DVD check genius, maybe he could find out if Blu-Ray checks exist (which I think they do otherwise Sony is extremely stupid).
