Video: How to Make Windows XP Look Like Windows 7

Hey everybody, I just got done watching a video I have been waiting for from one of my favorite YouTubers Gigafide.

This video clearly shows how to make XP look like Windows 7 so I thought I would share.

You will need the download zip located on the Tinketnut Forum, which can be found below

Download: http://www.tinkernut.com/win7files.zip

To quote: I've combined all the applications into one zip file. Here are the files that are included in the above link:

- Windows 7 RTM theme for XP
- Icon Tweaker
- Taskbar Shuffle
- Aero Shake
- Aero Snap
- Drive Icons
- Show Desktop

Enjoy!

Thanks. Think I'll give this a try.

Any downsides? I recall this being done when Vista came out (make XP look like Vista), were there any issues then?

I haven't run into any but who knows. The only thing I can really complain about it you don't get the super bar although you do get the smaller icons at the bottom of the screen. Personally I prefer this look but if you use everything it may lag your computer depending on what you're running. Still if you have the ability to upgrade I would do so instead of doing this.

Sorry but I don't see any reason not to update to Windows 7! Instead of Windows Vista which was really bad, 7 is almost as fast as XP and much more secure.

I tried to make my XP look like Vista but some of the programs occassionally crashed or didn't work at all on my system. Don't mess around and waste time, get yourself 7 if you want to have your Windows look like 7

7 is faster depending on how you handle your computer. When I had 7 it was running almost as fast as my current system in xp. But that was before I updated my graphics card drivers, after that it was insanely fast.

In other words windows 7 ran better on my computer without a graphics card then my computer does xp with a graphics card in it.
