Hi all, I'm new and having a hard time with DVD backups. If someone could help me out that would be awesome! I have read tons of postings here and hunted with google for tutorials and such.
Background:
PS2 V10 50004 PAL (German)
DMS4 EZI Lite
Maxtor 200GB HDD
ToxicBios 1.3 (not the OS because I have a Lite chip)
Nero Ultra 6.3
Installed the mod chip which was pretty easy once I figured out how the damn PS2 comes apart and gets put back together. Can disable the chip on boot before the flash with the Square button.
Downloaded and flashed ToxicBios 1.3. The flash indicated that it went well. i get the Toxic Logo at boot and I can access the config menu with X and so on.
I can play original Music CDs, original DVD games, copied CDs, but backup DVDs give me the Please Insert a PS2 formated CD/DVD to continue.
I have read in a couple of places that using either -r or +r media makes a difference with the newer consoles or it doesn't. What's the deal there should I use + or - or does it really make a difference.
Next, can you use a straight DVD copy from within Nero or should you create an image first and burn the image or what. I've tried using DVDdecrypter, Nero Ultra, Alcohol 120% and didn't have any luck with any of those programs using various tutorials and howto instructions with backup DVDs.
Other than that, everything seems to work fine.
