[MI Chip] V4 Gap

Hi, i chiped a V4 gap with a Matrix Infinity. and it worked this is my 3rd install.
after the install i booted up a game and it worked perfect... then and then when i tryed another game it would not boot (sit at browser screen) due to the lens being dirty as hell!!... i found this bygoogle'n around. i also purchased one of those how to clean laser guides from ebay... and i cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and now i get a Black screen right on boot up, yes the controler is hooked up. but before i cleaned the laser i also did a upgrade on firmware for the chip (V1.39) and thats pretty much where im sitting at right now... could it be a dead laser? .... i also tryed another video cable same results...... but if it laser was dead would the CD spin? i hear spining nosies.. some thing eles... right after i installed the chip i tested a game and the CD drive made quite lound sping noises.. is that the laser on its way out then finally died?

I was told by some one that the PS14 and the BA chip could be dead or just PS1
??? any idea wat kinda readings i should be getting with multimeter?

Usually when a modchip is installed you will hear a high speed spin when loading media and you will have to adjust the cd and dvd pots on the laser to take care of this,the pots are on the underside of your laser.Here is a pic to show you were they are and which direction to turn them,normally a scope or ohm meter is used when making the adjustment but you can adjust them without but just turn a very little at one time and you should be okay,the pic descibes this procedure.But only adjust one at a time if doing cds then just the cd pot,if doing dvds then just the dvd pot.
