Lens adjustment?

I have 2 chipped PS2s. The first one I THINK is a majic chip and a version 5. The second one is a version 9 with a DMS4 EZI Lite chip. When I try to run a CDR back up of Star Wars Lego, neither system will even start to load it. With the original disk, the second system still won't load the game. Both systems don't seem to have any problems with DVD-Rs. Does this mean that I need to adjust the laser and where can I get a tutorial on laser adjustment?

Like he said make the ROMEO MOD as soon as possible, but it looks like your LAchip is already burn.

I got it used, without the mod chip, and have only used it twice with the chip. It read the cdr to flash the BIOS. So, it could have burned out the chip in that short a time, and still read DVD-Rs? I read somewhere about adjusting some pots to make the reader work better. There are 2 adjustments, one for the DVDs and one for CDs. Or something about lens focus being different for the two. Can someone steer me towards a site that covers this? I thought I had seen it here before.

Here is a pic that shows this romeo mod which is pin #17 desoldered on the LA chip,it explains this more in the pic, this is for the v9 ps2.There is also a pic of a v5 ps2 laser pots and how to adjust them, usually a ohm meter is used but can be done if adjusting them very little at one time. These pot adjustments are on the underside of your laser.

Be careful adjusting the pots, it is meant as a last resort to just get a little more life from a dead laser, you can mess up a good laser by doing it though...

How can I measure resistance with Ohm meter? Where should it be 1100-1300 Ohms? Can someone post a picture, please?

But in this post you are talking about laser coils with resistance of 4.5 Ohms. I want to measure it on pods. I read somwhere on this forum, that normal resistance is 1100-1300 Ohms.

My problem is:
My PS2 can't read DL games well. So, I tried to adjust dvd pod. I forgot to mark it's default position. Now my console isn't reading any DVDs good. It's making loud clicking sounds when I insert DVDs. Does it mean that my laser resistance decreased or increased? Should I rotate this pod clockwise or counterclockwise to return everything to normal? I want to measure resistance somewhere and return this pod to 1100 Ohms. But where?
