Notepad should open up the system file,just check properties to make sure that the read-only isn`t checked otherwise it might not open the file,once you open it it should look like this one once you have renamed the SLUS no. for example a ps2 game system file will look like this.
BOOT2 = cdrom0:\SLUS_123.45;1
VER = 1.01
VMODE = NTSC
And you would change it to this.
BOOT2 = cdrom0:\BOOT.ELF;1
VER = 1.01
VMODE = NTSC
And the program elf you use like the SMS elf file which is
SMS Version 1.5.elf which you would rename to
BOOT.ELF as the system file has to point at this
BOOT.ELF you renamed,and this is why both have to be named the same.
Then you can add a dummy file if you like but only if you want to as this program SMS won`t take up much space at all on the cd,these are the files you should have.
SYSTEM file---From a ps2 game with the SLUS no. renamed to
BOOT.ELF.
BOOT.ELF file---Which is your like say SMS elf file renamed.
DUMMY file---Optional if you want to put one with the other two files,i make mine 200mbs in size.
Then just burn these files only with the nero tutorial if you have it which i gave a link to that thread in my earlier post and it should work as i have made one this way with no problems in loading.
