Games on Demand is Coming to Windows Live Tomorrow

Tomorrow Games for Windows Live will be getting Games on Demand, allowing gamers to access and download their Live favorites.

Games on Demand for Windows lets you purchase and download titles from the Games for Windows Live library from your computer, and allows you to reinstall your games whenever you want, wherever you want.

To quote: The titles that will be available on launch tomorrow include Resident Evil 5, Red Faction: Guerrilla, and Battlestations: Pacific, World of Goo, and Osmos. Purchases can be made using a credit card or Microsoft Points.

"With Games on Demand, we didn't just want to create a cut-and-paste version of existing digital distribution services," said Mike Ybarra, general manager of Live Engagement Services.

"We challenged ourselves to deliver an integrated platform that takes full advantage of the unique capabilities offered by the Live service. Our goal has always been to create a seamless online gaming experience for the Windows community, and Games on Demand is a great step toward that end."

Thumbs down

I don't agree with this games on demand thing they're going with. It just seems a cut and paste of Steam. Steam is the way to go in my opinion, the games on demand is just not going to get any support because Steam is running so strong. In the long run, they're going to lose money in doing this. Bad move on their end.
