Exclamation DVD Decrypter question

When I select the write speed for an image I select 8X. My media supports 8X speeds. Yet when the game is actually being written to a DVD, it says "Actual write speed: 1.1X" What exactly is going on? Is the game being written at 8X? And if not why does DVD Decrypter slow the burning speed down to 1.1X even though I select 8X and my media supports it? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

time taken to record will give you a good indication of speed, a full dvd will be done very quickly at 8x, somewere in the region of 7 or 8 mins if I remember right. personally for ps2 I'd keep it at 4x max. 1x, well, if it's a full disk, your talking 1hr+

..your writer and medium may be 8x compatible, but if your pc can't send the data quick enough, for whatever reason (and there's quite a few) then your writer should automatically slow down to save you wasting the disk.

Do you have the newest version of dvd decrypter which is 3.5.4.0 this version was suppose to take care of that problem, and also make sure you have the lastest firmware update for your writer.

As possy99 speed is inportant,i burn at 2x and 2.4x and the games all work fine,i did try at 4x still loaded but it was a little slower and made a little more noise than the one been burnt at 2x or 2.4x speed, and i have a old computer over 6 years old and it can make an image at 4x in dvd decrypter and at least 6x with other softwares, but dvd decrypter does keep the reading speed down to ensure a good image burn, but it should go faster than 1.1x. :shades:

Ok Thank you all I was using version 3.5.1.0 so I will get the latest version. I'm sure it's just the program and not my writer because with Nero I can get the full 8X speed. Starlight, I have a LIGHT-ON Dual-Layer burner, do you know where I can the lastest firmware update for it? I should probably just check the site heh. Once again thanks

If you use good media and a good burner, no difference if you burn at 8x. Using Pioneer 107D and Maxell 8x, ps2 loads it quick all right.
