Gamecube Swansong woes... - PS3 NEWS

Yep, the GC is about 2 games away from being 100% dead. Today I was wondering when those two games would actually come out, so I did a little digging and found some fairly sad results:

1. Zelda: Twilight Princess is rumored to become a Wii-Only title (Some say it has been delayed again until 12-13-06). That obviously blows for people like me who have 0% interest in Wii.

2. Super Paper Mario has completely fallen off the GC release map. Speculation abound suggests that this title has also moven to a Wii release.

Quite frankly, I hate Nintendo now. This is a worse death than the N64 got.

How come several magazines I have laying around here say it'll be for both Wii and GC... they are only a few months/issues old, is it possible the info in them is false? :??

If so, that WILL suck hard... and my GC will be sold ASAP heh. :tongue2

Nintendo's official statement at E3 is that Zelda would see release on both systems with the GC version having a few less dungeons and the wii version having a different control sceme (to use the wiimote). I haven't heard anything to the contrary, the release date has been 12-13 since E3. In fact, my local EB games already has the boxes out on the floor for preorders. They couldn't take preorders if the game wasn't going to be released.

Super Paer Mario however has been moved to be a wii exclusive. They could still change their minds but I doubt it as it hasn't been hyped or preorderede like zelda has.

Im not going to sell my GC regardless (whats it worth? 20$?) but im not going to invest in ultra-rare 40$ component cables if Zelda isn't coming out either.

Well, Twilight Princess has been a GC title exclusively until Nintendo said it will also be a Wii launch title. Playing Devil's Advocate: It would technically be a smart move by Nintendo to do this, so people who would normally not want to waste time with Wii would have to get it to play this awesome game.

Personally, if they do this, I will NOT buy a wii or that game. Bastards.

Well, I was off with the Zelda/Wii exclusive, but the Super Paper Mario is now Wii-only.

Oh yeah, the Gamecube died today. Long live Gamecube and Damn you Wii!

I think it would be neat to see a GC revival. I don't see why not since all of a sudden 5 million+ people have systems that can play GC games...

I know when I finally manage to find a Wii somewhere im totally going to play GC on it.
