What do you think about Star Wars Episode III The Movie?

Dude this movie was so awesome, but so sad. I wish I could have cried at the end, but I am a guy so that is nearly an imposibility.

What did you guys think of Star Wars Episode III the movie? What was your favorite part and why? What was not your favorite part and why?

The coolest part was when Skywalker was getting fitted with robotic legs and arms and becoming Darth Vader. I hated the part when Skywalker's legs and arm were cut off by Obi because that scene was just sad.

I thought this was a great movie it answered so many questions. Just an example was the way in which the chancellors face ges disfigured. I loved it when Obi Wan cuts off his legs wih the light saber. The sadest part of the movie for me was when Anakin kills all the younglins in the Jedi Temple.... Now that is just pure EVIL! I get to see this movie as many times as I want since I am friend with an owner of a movie theater. Plus I dress up in my Vader costume and take pics with the fans they love it.

I thought it was easily the best of the prequels.

Pros: ACTION ACTION ACTION! General Grevious + four lightsabers. Copius Killing. Yoda getting smacked down. Fills in every question I had between the "New Trilogy" and the "Old Trilogy".

Cons: Palpatine sounds and acts very weird when he is going through his "transformation" from senator to evil twisted dark emporer. Some semi-corny lines between Anikan and Padme. Weak reason for Anikan ultimately turning to the dark side.

Weird: Why does Grevious (a droid... who has some human parts in him it seems) hack and weaze like he smokes 10 packs a day?

I really need to see it again in a better theater though. I got there early and STILL got a semi bad seat. I HATE looking at a movie screen off-angle for 2+ hours!

Weak reason? I think you're the only one thinking this way. The whole time you could totally see things from his side and understand why he changed. He was being manipulated, sure, but his reasons were simple: Love and the pursuit of power. That's many a man's weakness.

Though I haven't had the chance to watch the Clone Wars cartoons yet, I understand that Mace Windu force pushed Grevious and crushed his chest. Having lungs, these got severely damaged, thus the constant breathing problems.

I don't think he means weak in that respect....I think he means weak that it happened so fast....
from the moment he said "what have I done?" to "I pledge myself to you." was all of about 15 seconds....maybe....

And yeah...mace put the smack down on GG in episode 25 of the clone wars. Also the cough let you know he wasn't a droid...Rumor is that the cough is voiced by GL......

I didn't want to get into that due to a possible spoiler but I guess any true fan has already seen it by now.

The reason I thought it was lame was that Palpatine somehow convinced Anakin to disbelieve EVERYTHING he was taught about what was right just to gain a "life-saving" power due to some dream he had. Honestly... that's like that Simpsons episode where Homer sells his soul to Satan for a donut I was expecting something a bit more... dire to convince Anakin to commit Jedi suicide and kill all those Jedi kiddies.

I also didn't care for the whole "Padmé died of a broken heart" thing...

Still, I loved the movie on the whole. God speed for a DVD release!

well...You're led to belive that because of his mom's death he now sees his visions as the deffinate future...If you ask me the real reason why that wasn't as belivable is because no one cares about padme....
If their chemistry was awesome and you belived 100% that they were in love....then you could side with anikin more...The audience was not made to want padme to live as bad as anikin.
case in point: what if the same thing happend to han and leia? by the end of jedi you belive that han would do anything for leia...and that's because of the chemistry they had on screen.
I agree about the broken heart.
would have made me happier to see palps kill, her blame it on obiwan, and never let anikin know...

I thought over all it awas a great movie but it did seem to jump around and move to quickly. Half the movie he doesn't show the dark tendencies that we saw come out when he killed the sand people over his mother. He was pretty much a goody goody, although cocky. He's whining but knows right from wrong. Then he does one thing, realizes it was bad and felt regret, but then "ok, I'll be a bad guy". There didn't seem to be much progression.

I don't understand the splitting of the twins to "protect" them. The girl goes off with another family and is raised as their own, so she's safe. Luke goes back to Tatooine, raised by his aunt and uncle and maintains the name Skywalker. Not exactly the witness protection program. I do see how it works though since Vader thinks he killed Padme with the choke and doesn't know either were born, let alone that there were 2.
