Very Newb Question - PS3 NEWS

Hi ive been with the ps2 dev scene for about a year nw but could some please tell me the definitions of coasters :queston:

Coasters are just bad burns... they don't work, and since CDR/DVDR media is just slightly larger than cardboard drink coasters (used to protect your table from water/condensation damage) people just call them 'coasters' as that is about all bad burns are useful for.

Wow.

Well, a 'coaster' is a useless burned disc (CD or DVD). Either a burn error, or the files are wrong, whathaveyou. The point is, it's not useable for anything except setting beneath your glass when you put your drink down on your coffee table (like a coaster).

I don't have a microwave at home, but I think it would be freakin' hilarious to bring in a stack of my coaster and put them in the microwaves here at work. Nothing says "Promote me to management!" like the smell of burning plastic.

Be careful though, if you leave them in for too long (more than a few seconds, you can break the microwave. Aluminum+microwave=bad

Not really; putting eggs into a microwave is far more dangerous than put anything metallic. With something metallic you may get a few sparks nothing more; unless of course you put the implement right next to the wall which could then create an electrical arc which would provide the possibility to ruin the microwave. Also it depends on the density of said metal if you put something like a fork in maybe a couple of sparks, of course it will be damned hot when you try to remove, While something like steel wool would be quite interesting.

Now like I said about eggs being more dangerous, the heat generated by the microwave inside the of the egg causes it to expand at an absurd rate thus causing it to explode and in the process more than likely ripping the door off.
