May 11, 2007 - We're not going to lie to you - it's a bit of a lacklustre Virtual Console update today. Admittedly, it could be worse, but we're willing to bet neither of this week's two releases are going to set your knickers on fire.

First up is the enjoyable NES Open Tournament Golf, starring Mario. There are five different courses to stomp around - including a UK one - and Princess Peach acts as your caddy, which is nice.

If you prefer wielding a katana to waving a club, then take a look at Ninja Spirit. It's a Turbografx game replete with - gasp - ninja-slashing through seven platformer-style levels, as you quest to avenge your father's death.

Both titles are available to download now - or, of course, you could save your pennies for something far more exciting. Like beer.
