May 3, 2007 - Thursday morning, Disney Interactive officially announced that arcade classics Tron and Discs of Tron are coming to Xbox 360 this summer. The titles, offered separately, celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of Tron in movie theatres.
Each game features original and enhanced graphics and sound. Along with single-player action, Tron and Discs of Tron offer four online competitive modes that support two players. Details on these new modes remain a mystery for now. However, we have first video of both games to satisfy some of your curiosity.

In Tron, which first appeared in arcades in 1982, players must complete four increasingly challenging modes to advance through levels. You get to battle tank forces, zip about on light cycles, attack the MCP cone and fight off grid bugs to enter the I/O tower.
Discs of Tron, a follow-up 1983 arcade game, sees you scrapping with Sark, the defender of the Master Control Program, in one-on-battles that take place in 3D arenas. Of course, the best way to fight in the future is by lobbing a glowing Frisbee at each other, which is exactly what you do in the game while trying to avoid being 'derezzed' - whatever that is.
Craig Relyea, VP of marketing at Disney Interactive Studios, said: "The Tron film has captured the imaginations of video game players and film fans for generations with its ground-breaking visuals and action-filled story." So, that'll be the sound of you all jumping at the chance to download the games this summer then, eh?
