Update: According to http://tinycartridge.com/post/152220533/new-dsi-1-4-firmware-update-blocks-flashcarts-adds, the new DSi Firmware v1.4 has reportedly blocked all flash carts but adds Facebook functionality. Some flash carts are updatable for the DSi, but as of yet there is apparently no work-around.
Today German site PlanetDS.de (linked above) is reporting that Nintendo's DSi handheld has received its first System Update.
There is currently no word yet on whether this targets Nintendo DSi Homebrew.
To quote, roughly translated: Nintendo has released the first system update for the Nintendo DSi. In version 1.4 the DSi Shop comes out with a new version and an update of the Nintendo DSi Browser can be downloaded.
The improvements that have been made, are a slightly better browsing speed and some security updates.
In addition, in Japan the Flipnote Studio received an updated as well. For now the US and Europe are still waiting for this free DSiWare opportunity to come.
