how do u know when the patch begins/ends... mine has been sitting on the black dos screen for a while now

ok

i have completed the patch but the file size of the new file is 1.87GB and the original file was 4.37. Also the file name that i got after patching is DRK-FLE.001. This opens in winrar and has the contents of a ps2 game inside... can anyone help me, what do i do with this? I cant open this file to patch a disc id

These are the basic usage instructions for the NBA Street: Volume 3 USA (PROTOCOL) SMFIX:

1. Rename your NBA Street V3 (NTSC U/C) ISO image to "ptc-nbasv3.iso".
2. Run the DRK-NBA.EXE file.

6. Optionally, patch the \DNAS280.IMG file with a valid DNAS disc ID.
7. Record the DRK-NBA.ISO image to disc. Enjoy your game.

To prevent any errors during the above process:

• Ensure your working HDD has approximately 9 GB or more of free space.
• Ensure you put your your ptc-nbasv3.iso and DRK-NBA.EXE file into a folder that does not contain spaces in it's path or does not have a path name that is very long. For example, "C:\WINDOWS\Temp\NBASV3" would be a good working folder, while "C:\Documents and Settings\SomeUser\My Documents\[PlayStation 2] NBA Street V3" would not.

Copy your CONFIG.NT and AUTOEXEC.NT files from the C:\WINDOWS\REPAIR folder to the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder.

I downloaded nba street the name of the iso is ptc-nbasv3.iso. Its 4.37 Gb. I need to rebuild and take out the dummy for this iso cause its to big i need to do TOC refresh. But I dont have the games big enough to do a TOC refresh. So i download isobuster and extract all the files into a new folder in order. But there i cant find the dummy file in isobuster at all. The new folder i extracted the files to is exactly 2.38GB??? What do i do from here? PLease help. Also do I need to register it so I can extract the iso part and udf of the image? If I do do I extract them both to the same folder?

I burn it anyway but it locks up at the first load screen. I made sure I had 9 Gigs of free space and put in a folder thats not too long. Is it because of this error or that i didnt do a bigger TOC refresh? I dont have an original game of that size so thats why Im trying to make it smaller but still play it on a dvd media. Any step by step guide or help would be appreciated.

Well, if the patch doesn't work, rebuilding the image will.

I have attached a file list and a Sony CD/DVD-ROM Generator IML/IMS file set to help you rebuild NBA Street V3 (NTSC U/C). To use the IML/IMS file set:

1. Extract all files from your game disc. It is recommended, but not mandatory, to extract these files into the C:\NBASV3 folder.
2. Optionally, if you would like to use your backup online, patch the .\DNAS280.IMG file with a valid DNAS disc ID.
3. Plug the IML file into IML-2-DVD v1.01. If you did not extract the files into the C:\NBASV3 folder, IML-2-DVD will ask you where the game files are located.
4. The final size of the ISO image will be 2.40 GiB (2,585,591,808 bytes). Record the rebuilt the ISO image to a DVD±R and enjoy.

This rebuilt image works perfectly as a direct swap from Swap Magic 2.0 DVD.
