Gizmodo Receives First Windows 7 BSOD, Windows 8 Anyone?

We've been fiddling around with the Windows 7 Beta for a few days, but just now finally run into that old friend of Windows users: the blue screen of death.

It's good to see that Microsoft hasn't bothered to change the old Windows blue screen; and by good, we mean bad.

Isn't it about time to fail a little bit more gracefully? Or at the very least, in a way that actually makes sense to end-users?

The error throws up the driver that caused it (way at the bottom of the error) before automatically rebooting, but actually identifying it via which type of component it is-sound, video, USB, hard drive-would be useful for people who just want to know what they did to cause it.

It's a beta, Microsoft, but it's doubtful you have enough time to revamp this BSOD for launch. Maybe by Windows 8?

You could also fall back to Windows Vista. Sounds weird, but I don't have any stability problems and never seen the BSOD in Vista. Seriously, Vista isn't that bad.

Unless they already have the screen ready, and are just waiting for the launch. Doubtful since it's windows... But at least it happened to someone before the launch.

My testing computer is decommissioned right now.... So how is windows 7? Does it work with all computers? Fix all errors? Kill that monkey in my closet? Cure cancer? Anyone here who can answer me?

Well... i have the beta here myself... Very nice love the loadingscreen The big difference is that the minimum systemspecs are not that high anymore

arghh Don't forget it's only Beta. I'm on a alpha its fast like XP And Smooth and nice like Vista.

The New Taskbar and some other feateres bring the rest...

I've got in Alpha-Testing 3 BSOD but well .. it's only a Alpha/beta .. will be fixed these Bugs who hat it ...

I also am testing windows 7 beta in VMware and i haven't had any problems yet with it, but i will keep snooping into it and see if any bugs/errors come up or not.
