I didn't think that the drives in the PS3 could be hacked. From memory, M$ never signed their DVD Roms, due to being made by Hitachi and Samsung originally [and now Benq and LiteOn].

Over time though I guess things change. Never would have thought that using a USB device would work so easily with the PS3. Still remember everyone saying 'BS' and 'Fake' - and the tense wait afterwards, seeing if it was all true or not.

On a side note, looks like M$ is about to do a new media format change. Major Nelson [an Xbox rep / marketing guru] has asked for people in the US to test a new format for the console. They get a free copy of 'Halo : Reach'.

Not sure what it's going to be though, probably just a new way of managing data on the discs. [also note that the entry for this has closed for anyone with a 360 and wanting to try it].

Do 360 DVDs scratch like regular DVDs or do they have some sort of protective coating? From all the scratching I've heard about 360 DVDs I'll assume not. If I had a 360 I wouldn't use my original discs, yes?

    iXtreme LT Plus v1.9 Full & JungleFlasher v0.1.85 (257)

Here is another iXtreme LT Plus v1.9 Full and JungleFlasher v0.1.85 (257) update for those interested.

C4E's iXtreme Slim LT+ 1.9 World first backups for XBOX 360 Slim.
    • For LiteOn Drive 9504
    • For LiteOn Drive 0225
    • For LiteOn Drive 0272
    • For LiteOn Drive 0401

    Protection measures for slim:

Realtime checks of drive firmware and ram by dashboard - Rootkit technology used to pass several realtime check types. These checks on the drive are open ended so as to make replay of the answers impossible. Will pass any check on any part of the drive

Hardware flash modification check - The 1335 chip performs a hardware check on powerup for modified firmware. Chip fooled into thinking firmware is stock

Slim drive locked to read pressed game discs only - Enabled reading of DVD+R DL media for game discs

All features of current LT+ 1.9 also included
    • CFW's based on latest Dash updates OFW's
    • Supports booting AP25 backups and XGD3 originals.
    • Optimised Timings
    • Optimised PFI code to accomodate AP25 SS data
    • Defeats current AP25 protection
    • Protects console from logging AP25 violation
    • Full disc stealth used by default
    • Waveless booting , disc images are assumed to be correct!
    • Split-Vid used as default

If booting an AP25 title without AP25 SS game will not boot but will still be protected from logging AP25 violation on current dash 12625
If LT+ encounters an unknown AP25 challenge, game will not boot but console will still be protected from logging AP25 violation on current dash 12625.

AP25 SS are region specific for region locked games. Also below is the Unlock LiteOn DG-16D4S for Xbox 360 Lite-On DG-16D4S drives.

Arrow iXtreme LT Plus v1.91 Full & JungleFlasher v0.1.86 (267)

Below is another iXtreme LT Plus v1.91 Full by c4eva and JungleFlasher v0.1.86 (267) update for those interested.

Official release of the iXtreme LT+ v1.91 full firmware pack with support for Samsung, Hitachi, Benq and Lite-On drives. Features:
    • CFW's based on latest Dash updates OFW's
    • Supports booting AP25 backups and XGD3 originals.
    • Optimised Timings
    • Optimised PFI code to accommodate AP25 SS data
    • Defeats current AP25 protection
    • Protects console from logging AP25 violation
    • Full disc stealth used by default
    • Waveless booting , disc images are assumed to be correct!
    • Split-Vid used as default
    • Support for LiteOn Drive 9504, LiteOn Drive 0225, LiteOn Drive 0272 and LiteOn Drive 0401.

    New in this release:
    • New random AP26 challenges defeated. Due to the new AP26 random challenges the safety freeze for unknown or bad AP25 data is no longer supported. Please ensure your AP25 data is correct for the dashboard version you are using.
    • No need to reburn current AP25 backups from dashboard 13146

JungleFlasher v0.1.86 (267) is a GUI based all-in-one flash tool for iXtreme firmwares. Includes documentation. New in this release:
    • Support for LT Plus 1.91 - Lite-on Slim 0272, 0225, 0225u, 0401 - Lite-on Phat 02510C - Benq 04421C -Hitachi 78/79
    • Bug fix for non USB MTK routines: Read, Write, Phatkey etc.
    • Support for Sputnik/Russian MXIC unlock methods.

Important note that bears repeating about iXtreme LT+ v1.91 (and this probably applies to any subsequent firmware as long as additional random AP25 challenges nicknamed "AP26" are being used):

"Due to the new AP26 random challenges the safety freeze for unknown or bad AP25 data is no longer supported. Please ensure your AP25 data is correct for the dashboard version you are using."

This means that (for consoles which do AP25 checks see the AP25 FAQ for info): forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=728912
    • AP25 backups (see the list of AP25 games: [Register or Login to view links]) that are not patched with AP25 replay data will fail the normal AP25 challenges outright. (The normal AP25 challenges from the DAE table are still being performed along with the new random "AP26" challenges.)
    • AP25 backups that are patched with old/incomplete/bogus AP25 replay data will fail the normal AP25 challenges outright.
    • AP25 backups that are patched with current AP25 replay data will fail the normal AP25 challenges outright when the DAE table is updated again. So far the DAE table has only been updated through system (dashboard) updates but it could possibly be updated by other means.

Any of these failures will probably flag your console for a ban in the next banwave.

    Arrow iXtreme LT+ v2.0 and 0800 v3 & JungleFlasher v0.1.88 beta (280)

Here are some updates from C4E and others today, including iXtreme LT+ v2.0 and 0800 v3 and JungleFlasher v0.1.88 beta (280) below.

Xbox Backup Creator v2.9 Build 0345 - supports the ripping of Xbox Game Disc 3 (XGD3) games and AP25. Burning of XGD3 is not supported in this build.

    Changelog v2.9 Build 0345:
    • This build of XBC does not support older Xtreme ripping firmwares
    • (Kreon drives are still supported though).
    • Changed – Auto spindle speeds when error occur
    • Added – XGD3 and AP25 Support
    • Added – Title Assets Check when ripping or burning xgd3
    • Added – DAE.bin file reading in association of AP25 disc
    • Added – Ability to rescan drives (ctrl-s)
    • Added – Support for iXtreme v3 BenQ
    • Added – Support for iXtreme v3 Liteon

It is advised that you start XBC without a DVD in the drive. DAE.bin file selection is up to the user to maintain. XBC will use whatever DAE.bin file is in the same directory as the exe.

NOTE: Burning xgd3 is not supported yet in XBC, this release is for ripping only. Use ImgBurn manually following tutorials from outside of XBC. XGD3 stealth checks not supported either, use abgx360 when available.

C4E's iXtreme LT+ v2.0 and 0800 v3 - now available for the following (fat) DVD drives: Samsung TS-H943, BenQ VAD6038, Lite-On DG-16D2S drives and the 0800 v3 (“PC ripping FW”) for BenQ and Lite-On (fat). The LT+ v2.0 for slim Lite-On and fat/slim Hitachi drives are not available.

    Changelog for iXtreme LT+ v2.0:
    • Support for XGD3 ixtreme backups using LT-MAX for maximum capacity on standard DVD+R DL discs.
    • Passes all security checks for XGD3 including correct capacity.
    • Support for large capacity DVD+R DL media (no errors when burning)

I would like to dedicate this fw to the Xbox Live Enforcement Team and the recent false (AP25) bans and subsequent reversal. Keep up the good work guys.

iXtreme v3.0 0800 firmware for Benq and Lite-On drives:

    Features:
    • Common API designed for easier application use!
    • Support for SS V2!
    • Support for AP25!
    • Support for XGD3 ripping!
    • Direct 0800 mode for game dumping including SS v2!

This firmware is NOT FOR USE IN A CONSOLE and is provided with the intended use of being in a dedicated “ripping” drive. This means:

    a. Does not need your DVD key,
    b. Does not need spoofing as another drive,
    c. Does not need to use the tray half open and
    d. Does not need to use the activate.iso to use this firmware on the pc.

    JungleFlasher 0.1.88 Beta (280) - includes support for LT+ v2.0 and LT 0800 v3.0.

    Changelog for v0.1.88b (280):

    • Benq 04421C
    • Samsung MS28
    • Support for LT 0800 v3.0
    • Benq, Lite-On (fat)

Exploit 360 v1.0.1.0 by SneakyPeanut includes support for Reset Glitch Hack v1.1, as well as a bunch of bug fixes. Not to mention, there's an auto updater built into the app.

They are 2 different systems with 2 completely different hardware architectures and methods of playing backups, so one needs to take that into account also
