Well, I have a PS2>USB converter for my PC. It doesn't need to install any drivers, and seems to use the default joystick driver. If that's really the case, then a PS2 controller should work if they let anyones USB controller work. I was under the impression that you could always pick up a Logitech PS2 style pc controller and use it on PS3. If this is the case, we can use PS2 controllers.
The PSP has 4 too few buttons. It would only be usable for certain games. There may be a handful that utilize it, like the GBA's link to the Gamecube. I'm counting Final Fantasy:C... Chronicals, Animal Crossing, Metroid, and Zelda:4 Swords.
Don't expect much interconnectablility.
