Rumor: Rare Whipping Up Two AAA XBox 360 Games This Year

Sponsored Links
289w ago - Microsoft seems to be placing its XBox 360 cards on the resurgence of Rare this year.

Word has it that the company that has assisted several internal projects from Microsoft will show the projects it has been working on for a couple of years.

There are strong indications of one being a first person shooter (read Perfect Dark) and the other an online brawler (Killer Instinct 3).

Both games are expected to be announced by E3 2009.

Online brawler?

How bout some Battletoads?

LMFAO. Battletoads VS Double Dragon VS KI Gold ULTRA 64 Turbo edition.

No but seriously, I'm surprised no one has attempted to remake a Battletoads title. With all the nostalgic titles coming back I'm surprises not to see a Battletoads title, never the less a Double Dragon title, that would be a great game. As long as they made these games bad ass like Ninja Gaiden, they could do quite well, at least Double Dragon.

I'm really glad to see Rare back in the mix again. With past hits such as the Killer Instinct series, Donkey Kong series and it's many sub series, and the all famous 007 Goldeneye, and others as well, whats not to like about these guys. I for one rember when the original Killer Instinct just came out in the arcades, I'll never forget the jaw dropping graphics and sick combo fighting style, at that moment in time I knew that was the one. Countless quarters later it hit the SNES, with its sub par graphics it still was better than pop'n in all those quarters.

I really hope they can set the standard again for the KI series, and live up to the expectations of all those die-hard fans who've been waiting for a decent fighter to bring back that rush we all used to get back in the arcade days.
