Update: According to
JoyStiq, the XBox 360 may also gain USB storage support in the upcoming 2010 update!
Today GamingBolt.com (linked above) is reporting that they have received an image of a new XBox 360 dashboard update on the way, namely version 2.0.9195.0.
Aside from the picture below there is no other evidence to support this claim, but many users feel it indeed looks legitimate so only time will tell for sure.
To quote: "Gamingbolt has been tipped off that a new XBox 360 dashboard update is coming soon, as we have a photo to prove it.
An image was sent in which appears to show a new XBox 360 dashboard.
The update appears to have been accidentally added by Microsoft after a console repair. Judging by the screenshot we can guess that the next dashboard update will be 2.0.9195.0."
They might not even require changes. It would seem to a futile attempt for MS to change the location of the checks, just for them to be patched out again.
The hardest bit will be getting a the newer dash to even boot.
Its likely the newer dash will require a CB version higher than that of a JTAG box can use.
The way the hack works now is it uses the older dash boot process to boot into the newer dash. This could be broken by the new dash requiring a new boot process.
