207w ago - I am curious as to what company the most people think won E3. Now this is derived more at their press conferences. So for those who have watched them all like I have it will be a little easier for you.
Now I personally believe Microsoft and Sony had great Press conferences. But I'll get back to them in a minute, as I have a bone to pick with the third competitor.
I am of course talking about Nintendo. They had arguably the WORST E3 PRESS CONFERENCE IN HISTORY! Lets start with my biggest problem, How much they gloated during their show!
Now I can see where you would say maybe once, twice even three times that you are "The leader in sales" or in your opinion "The most innovative". But Nintendo seriously said it OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN! which ended up taking up 50 minutes of their 70 minute long video.
The format was this. "Talk about how innovative Nintendo has always been, Talk about how Innovative the Wii is, Talk about how innovative the DSi is (My behind), Talk about a game for 2-5 minutes." Although the first 3 could be in any order, the "talk about a game" always came last.
And that's how it went. On top of that, just for giggles I guess, they brought back the "Broken leg" Lady who talked about her broken leg for 15 minutes last year. Instead shes now staring of into space saying "WE INNOVATE BECAUSE WE DO!!!"
And I understand Nintendo is trying to market it as a family device, but you don't do that at E3! The BIGGEST gaming expo in the world!
I seriously would have had a better time re-watching their press conference from LAST YEAR then this one time.
To move on... Microsoft and Sony both brought their best game to this conference. Although Sony's show clearly had a better format to it (The way in which the show played out).
The announcements were very shocking and deserve much prase. Of course they both messed up big time on at least one issue. But I'll get to that later let me for the time being name the things they talked about that really made people Excited.

Now this is obviously not everything they had at the show, but these are the things that will stick out the most.
In my personal opinion Sony had the better show but I do want to get Splinter cell Conviction really badly so the chances of me picking up a 360 finally increase.
But I do have a problem with two of the things announced. 1: Natal And... 2: PSR.
Lets start with Natal. Natal is the project name for Microsoft's new experience where you don't use a controller. I personally think the idea in general is stupid. I don't understand why you would want to sit there holding your hands up to drive a car... I mean come on thats not realistic at all.
The Facial and Voice recognition sound great on paper. However those things rarely work in real life. In fact I can't think of a single publicly available program that works 100% correctly.
That said if that works it will be pretty cool. Though they are not the first to offer scanning objects, Sony is with their PS Eye.
To move on to Sony's motion control, I will admit I have never been a very big fan of remotes for game play.
Although I believe it's going to work better then Natal, I can't help but feeling that it will be a absolute waste of money. I don't think people will develop for it. AND I feel the graphics are going to be WORSE then the wii's for all games using it.
Admittedly it's better then the Wii mote. But it still looks lousy as of now. But unlike Natal I can see some use in game for like maybe your holding a flash light.
Now The reason I hate these products is the fact they are all just gimmicks to get you to spend a extra $100 on your console for something you will never use. It won't catch on to the casual gamer so I don't know why they made something this casual.
At any rate I am done ranting. As I said before, because the exclusives are better I pick Sony this year.
Now to the point:
Microsoft won Hand down if we were to consider the show that they put put on, Spielberg, Yoko Ono, Paul Mc Cartney and ... (fill here), Peter Molinoeaux, are celebrities, they put up a show, a real show for E3. They know how to market a product even if it's obvious it' snot the best nor the first to do that!
