- A year after Ziff-Davis ceased production of the Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine in January 2007, Sony and Future US have teamed up to exhume an official PlayStation mag once more.
The first issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine goes on sale in late November, will come at a frequency of 13 issues per year, and promises "unprecedented access to the world of PlayStation," including PS3, PS2, and PSP coverage. Presumably, Future US will discontinue production of the independent PlayStation Magazine (PSM) in lieu of the Sony-sanctioned publication.
Future US was not immediately available for comment.
With the announcement in September that Future US would assume the role as the new publisher of Nintendo Power (something Nintendo did internally for nearly 20 years), Future US now publishes all official platform magazines in the America; Official Xbox Magazine, PlayStation: The Official Magazine, and Nintendo Power.
