195w ago - As previously reported, today the sales ads for the first week of September at Walmart, Gamestop and Meijer show the Xbox 360 Elite priced at $299 and replacing the current Pro SKU which Microsoft is phasing out.

Engadget has managed to get a leaked photo of the Walmart ad as you can see below.

To quote: "In a move obviously designed to offset Sony's recent PS3 redesign and price drop, the $299 price point will take effect on the same day as the new PS3 launches - September 1st. The Arcade SKU will remain at $199."

Expect an official Microsoft announcement soon...

That stuff alone will put you back quite a bit with a 360. One could make this argument before the price drop, now it is just absurd.

thats agreeable, not to mention My G25 racing wheel works with my ps3. i dont even race on my 360 because of this. u can also use BT accessories with the ps3, HDD is upgradeable. there is much more to the list.

RROD and e74 were permanently fixed on all models since summer 2008

oh yah... i guess ill have to go home and tell at my Feb 2009 model thats got RROD to start working because its supposed to be impervious to RLOD, then head to my basement workshop and demand that the DEC 2008 console with E74 start working again. stare at it with a leer of hate in my eye and scare it into submission.
