Sorry to say that but in Europe more than 50% of the PS3 fans base are RPG and Action-RPG fans. In Japan the Situation is even more severe over 85% play consoles for RPG and JRPG games.
So to lose too many of them to the Xbox would be a great blow for Sony, at least in Japan and Europe.

Wow I didn't even know they were making Star Ocean 4 but I'm crushed it's not planned for the PS3 right now...I'm a big rpg fan and the ps3 needs more rpgs, don't get me wrong, I think action games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, Mercenaries 2 etc. are good but we really need some good rpgs in there.
SNES is my favourite console of all time and short behind that is the playstation 1 and then playstation 2, sony needs to get in gear and pump out good games for all genres and stop focusing on one or two areas for the ps3, if they could produce a first party game like Final Fantasy 7 (that quality of an experience) they would have developers eating from their hand, it may be a pain to work with the ps3 but imagine the size and scope of an rpg if people put as much time and effort into one as say a game like MGS4 or an old school rpg like Secret Of Mana, or Illusion Of Gaia, less graphics more gameplay!
...although one couldn't complain if it had both... but usually game developers thinks it looks pretty it'll sell, and due to a lot of people demanding just that it seems like people who want to play games will be more like interactive movies...Yeah MGS4 had a lot of movies, but it has a lot of gameplay as well... that's how you do a combination right and that's why it sold well.

The ps3 is a solid machine but dont hold to one machine or you will miss your favorite games and thats not the point. When I was younger and mom and dad bought me the consoles I had to stick to one but really most of us here are over 25 and win our money so go out and buy your belove games.

yeah i hate that we here in Europe always get screwed over somehow i am a big rpg fan and i just want some good games for my ps3 but i keeps looking like i made the wrong choice with the console i bought and i would like to buy a xbox360 also but the problem is that here where i live a xbox360 cost 600$

Well, at least naruto looks promising in my opinion. as the first J- fighting game on the ps3.
