Ok let me translate:
"We came to this business to make the most money with the least amount of work, so, we stick to the PC and 360 because they are easy to program for and we are too lazy to learn any other way of programming. I mean if we could have an engine that could just do all the work for us we could just sit on our asses all day and count the money."
Did that read like I was pissed off at Valve?, All kidding aside I think Valve should just stick to PC, they don't support 360 as much as they do PC, they just dumped code and forgot about it. I really hope other companies aren't as lazy and think of themselves as all high and mighty.

They should really just focus on PC, besides most of their PC work runs just fine and should be played on PC anyway. Steam is keeping them alive with digital downloads.
EA, Kojima, Namco and now Valve.. I love the PS3 dont get me wrong but if its turning big developers away its gotta say something. :hmm:

Well they do have a very good point. The PC and 360 are much more simplier (for one the 360 is pretty much based off a PC) than a PS3.
I mean they're here to make a lot of money and well making their developers learn a new programming language would take time and money.

Last I checked, Sony has 19 in house game developer companies. Which is one shy twice as many as Xbox. So, I don't think we should care if these lazy developers want to stick with the cookie cutter console. The PS3 is doing just fine and so is Sony. Hence why they are said to have won E3 this year. There only getting better with time.

Valve doesn't owe Sony or PS3 owners anything, and they can choose not to develop for the PS3 if that's what they want. Personally, I figure it wouldn't hurt them to form a small team to experiment with the PS3 and see what they can learn from it, but it's their choice.
Totally agree otaru.
With so many ps3 exclusives already, all valve does is prove their mediocrity with this announces. Ok, many others have managed to create outstanding games, many among the best in videogame history, and all valve can say is: "Itīs really too hard, we better stick with what we know".

Valve has not made a major game separate from halflife. Everything is pretty much a mod of HL with upgrades to the same source engine they have been using forever. Their only "innovation" is steam and thus my opinion of them is that they are really not your regular developer at all. They peddle mods and other ppls games, thats it.

otarumx, I smell a business opportunity with a translation like that. :p ....Babblefish got nothing on you!
In my opinion if they valve continue this matter, some people who play their game eventually stop playing it coz everytime a came a cross of valves game in youtube and any other websites i see a lot of comments that valve is a lazy developer and all that crap...(dont hate me i just observe it..) well see what happen in time..
I don't really understand their logic in making those statements... I mean other dev studios have been able to develop games for both consoles without that much trouble so I'd think there has to be some decent middle-ware available to help with the task. Sure the game may not be QUITE as good as it could have been had it been an exclusive but I think the difference in quality would be small enough.
At the VERY least I'm surprised they didn't say they'd continue to be open to other 3rd party picking up their games and porting them over - similar to what EA did for Orange Box. I don't see how Valve could lose out in that deal... it's at least better than not offering ANY games at all on the PS3.

thats such bs tho, because if they are "trying to make money" they should work on all platforms. i mean hell, look at squaresoft/enix. they for the most part for a while were only nintendo/ps, but now they have been making releases on most platforms. granted i understand the not wanting to figure out the mechanics, but i mean come on. more platforms = more money. simple as that. you have to put effort in to get anywhere, not just take the easiest road.
