Uncharted 2 PS3 Game Freezing Problems Being Reported

i had this too unfortunately, near the end during a cutscene. when i wanted to continue the game the next day it dropped me off after that cutcene so i didn't have a clue how i got there. i have the 80GB "fat" ps3.

this game has defenitely some issues:

-cutscenes sometimes skip frames
-random freezes while playing

these bugs are pretty unfrequentely - but once an evening they occur - which is acceptable for most people i think.

im running ps3-os v3.0 and have the german PEGI version of uncharted 2.

It froze once on my 60GB PS3, when it was loading on the background for new level and I decided switch weapons... Luckily the autosave brought me back to the spot. Only one freeze and I've finished the game.

Strange I didn't freeze once. Actually XMB runs really fast on my PS3 Fat 80GB model with Backwards compatibility. I would recommend that everyone upgrade to Firmware 3.1 if you have not already.

i had no issues at all. 30+ hours played, platinum trophy owned. PS3 model CECHK 80Gb, FW 3.01

it UC2 freeze on the middle of a good match sometimes... piss me off!

Slightly tangent, but the 3.0 firmware has been really bad on my end. COD4 essentially hangs *every* single time I run it. the only way to alleviate it is to reboot my router. Now I'm not sure if it's because my crappy SE567 dsl / switch is especially poor or what, but it was only after the 3.0 update..

Only had it freeze one on me once so far..

My PS3 had been on for most of the day so it may have been running hot as the same place worked fine the next day.

Unfortunately i didn't buy the game to test this yet, but i feel lucky there will be an update sooner or later to fix it anyway.

Unfortunately I have a big problem with UC2 as well. While attempting to take a screenshot of a previous match (using the in-game feature) - I always getting horrendously screwed up pictures with nothing being viewable to any degree. Peeps on the Sony forums said I have to have a 720P set for it to work, which is ridiculous, but ok.

Hopefully Naught Dog patches that up, cause I'd like to photograph my victories over my brother in that game.

I am also having a lot of problems with Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.. I am having problems since the Multiplayer Beta. The Multiplayer Beta did froze a few times and now with the original game i've had a lot of freezes and one overheating problem. I've got a PAL 60GB PS3 (CECHC04) running firmware 3.01

Maybe we could do something with these bugs, because i also had one while picking up a treasure so maybe the devs could find something interesting in this game..

I am having problems with COD4 since release date on every firmware after the release it overheats my PS3. I've made a call with Sony a long time ago and they told me there were soms driver problems with COD4 so it could be that..

Guys this issue is more serious than you think. All lot of gamers are reporting not only freezing but also an auto shut down while playing the Single Player and All Co-Op modes. Here's a link to the PS Forums with this topic

All other games work fine, plus the ps3 is not hot when it shuts downs. Also when it shuts down, there is a red blinking light. Team Death match works fine for hours but with 30 seconds or more sometimes an hour or on another occasion 10 mins, the ps3 would just shut down and give you a red blinking light while playing the Single Player and All Co-Op Modes. Can you guys check it out, and email Sony about this issue please? A few of us have contacted Sony have said that they are aware of the issue...

I have the same problem, I don't get the game freeze but in single player mode the system shuts down and the red light blinks. This is very annoying, I love the game but not enjoying playing it because of this.

I also had (1) Freeze happen. HDD light blinking like crazy. Running down some steps in the Cintamani Temple after a fight and it froze. Not bad though, look at Fallout 3, that's a mess there.

I had a freeze almost at the end of the game, but after restarting my PS3 the problem was gone.

Yea, my Fallout would always freeze around the ants. It was rather annoying.

I had one freeze while playing Uncharted 2. Not a big deal since there is a autosave point every 10 seconds.

I've completed uc2 bout 3-4 times (collecting the medals etc) and not once have i had it freeze on me.

The disc made me update from 2.76 to 2.8, but i think the freeze issue could be hardware, software and firmware related ie. firmware version x.xx, with uc2, and defected/deteriorated hardware (you might take care of your ps3 but its still prone to damage, even if you dont know it yet)

Anyways, iv had no issues with a jap launch 60gb, fw 2.8 :)
