Today SplitFish.com (linked above) has announced (via Press Release) [PDF] that they are launching a 'groundbreaking' PS3 Controller dubbed FREVOLUTION X at GamesCom 2009.

Zurich, Switzerland, Edmonton, AB-Aug 6, 2009 - SplitFish Gameware, Inc., will show attendees at Gamescom (Aug. 19-23, 2009 at the Koelnmesse Trade Fair Grounds) the latest additions to its line of innovative controllers for PlayStation®3. The new controllers are part of SplitFish's brand-new Frevolution X System to be available worldwide in fall 2009.

One of the world's leading PRO GAMERS - and FPS global dominator in COD, Dennis Dozier (zDD), will be on hand for the launch of the new controllers. Press, Developers and Gamers will have an opportunity to engage in some friendly head to head competition with Dennis who will also be demonstrating some tips and tricks with the new FREVOLUTION X peripherals during pre scheduled appointments.

The revolutionary two part WIRELESS Dual SFX Frag Pro, The WIRELESS Dual SFX Evolution and the uber successful FragFx V2, will be on display at the SplitFish booth at Gamescom, Hall 4.2, Corridor F/Booth Number 43 and Corridor G/Booth Number 44. The Dual SFX Frag Pro is a full featured wireless PS3 and PC gaming controller with programmable button configurations and adjustable mouse aiming that provides unprecedented levels of accuracy. It improves upon the tremendously popular FragFX, adding a dual wireless system to the intuitive controller.

An ergonomic, 2000 DPI laser mouse provides PC-like accuracy and easy PS Home navigation, while the left-hand grip provides full SixAxis motion control and a whole slew of customization functions and other special performance features.

SplitFish will also be providing a first ever sneak peek at their revolutionary SPLIT, DUAL WIRELESS, ANALOG STICK controller innovations designed specifically with SPORTS and other ACTION/RPG titles in mind such as FIFA, MADDEN and LITTLE BIG PLANET. The Dual SFX Evolution combines the intuitive action-gaming mechanics of two-tier accuracy control into one complete control interface.

A right-hand motion/analog joystick controller joins an updated version of the Fragchuck made famous by the original FragFX. Together, the two halves provide two handed freedom and simultaneous macro and micro gaming control necessary for a superior action game experience.

Wouldn't that give players an unfair advantage over the people using the dualshock 3?

I figure it is like the people that have a super fancy mouse and keyboard that has like 100 buttons and they macro everything to them. If those are alright then this should be also.

I know some people have issues with the PS3 controller for FPS, so a high quality controller would be a nice option. I know that all the non-Sony PS3 controllers I have suck terribly in comparison to my DS3.
