Yea, it's a slow news day... but since Michael of NewPCGadgets.com (linked above) took the time to mail us, the least we can do is mention their new Security Kit for PlayStation 3, eh?

After all, based on a search of the boards it seems a lot of PS3 consoles (Stolen PS3 #1, Stolen PS3 #2, Stolen PS3 #3) get stolen.

To quote: "This new security kit features a steel security plate which attaches to the back of the PlayStation 3 console in less than 60 seconds and does not require any special tools. Once attached simply slide the security cable through the slot in the security plate and secure to any nearby fixture.

Finally a theft protection product for your most valuable game console. Perfect for use in dorm rooms, home or office.

The PlayStation 3 Security Kit includes a interlocking steel plate assembly, padlock with 2 keys and 8' steel wire security cable. Retail is $29.95 and can be ordered directly from our Web site."

Hahahaha, I love the little pad lock. What do you do with the cable? Attach it to your tv? Seriously, I'm sure it doesn't take much to cut that puny looking cable. And look out! Some people don't need tools to break in and steal your stuff. This guys uses his teeth! http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_3359106.html?menu=

*If you are concerned about you PS3 and other belongings, check out apartment or tenant insurance. For myself, theft is covered among other things, floods, fires, ect. I think I pay about $17/mo for mine.*

Indeed, kinda reminds me of "The Club" they sell for cars... people just hacksaw through the steering wheel and pull it off that way.

I suppose this may deter people who don't have any other tools readily available though. :wacky:

It looks like it attaches to the vents in the back of your PS3. What's to stop somebody from just yanking it free?
