While the God of War franchise has traditionally been a particularly brutal series, the developers claim God of War III will push the boundaries to the limit.

When showing off the game most recently, the developers over at Santa Monica's studio told viewers that "Some of these scenes are so violent, they are never going on the internet - at least, not by us. They're just not appropriate for some audiences."

Sony Santa Monica recently showed off God of War III's new 'Zipper Technology', a feature the developers had long wanted to include but never had the power to do so - until they had the PS3. The feature allows enemies' skin to slice open realistically, allowing for internal organs to spill out depending on the severity of the cut.

The Official PlayStation Magazine talks explicitly about seeing Kratos gutting a centaur, with the stomach, guts, and internal intestines oozing out of the wailing beast.

Just hearing that makes me squeamish. Has God of War III gone to far? Is that even possible? God of War III is due out in the fiscal year of 2009, exclusively for the PS3.

I think it would be ridiculous to assume that sony will have it out by the end of 2009, as far as release dates go, sony is almost as bad as blizzard

Wow, think about what your saying, no one comes close to Blizzard

Anyway back to this article; I think the only reason their saying this is because they haven't actually got any new scenes to show to the public because their probably behind on development.

The people at Blizzard are perfectionists, just like Sony. They don't like to rush stuff.

....and I'm ok with that - rather they get it perfect, than just get it right!

This news just made me happy. I was never a big a big fan of the title, it hit too late in the PS2's lifespan for me. I personaly wasn't into the action adventure scene at the time dispite how good the games were.

I really like the fact that the realism factor has been attributed to this title in such ways, especially considering the game's graphical capabilities. I really hope more developers pick up on these FX. I would love to see an online shooter set in modern times with real blood and gore effects, and character realism in such ways as to where your hit will effect your movement or kill you, ect.

This title is a must have, I have yet to buy an action shooter game yet for the PS3, and thats put into consideration RE5 as well because I have seen the whole game beaten, and noticed it was an action shooter title and not a survival horror game. I believe this title engine and graphical wise will set the standard for all platformer action titles for quite a while, can't wait.
