I think (could be wrong) they mean announced as in Sony will confirm it's coming and detail the 2.7 features planned... versus actually releasing it today.

so far they're all rumors though. they didn't even say where they're hearing it from, just what they believe will happen.

Yep, 2.70 was online today for a short time but I didn't get to grab it before they removed it. If anyone has it, the PS3 Devs here would like to see it. ;)

Hard to believe nobody here managed to snag it before it was removed.. :confused: Most only got under 100% download of it sadly. :meh:

I can't help but remain skeptical of the rumors for "in-game web browser".
I having functionality for having two players signed in at the same time is going to be very nice to have :). If I remember right in an interview with some developers from Sony a while back, they had expressed interest in having two players signed in at once, but said it would be challenging to do. Glad they could sort out the issues :) . Hopefully this new functionality will make it into every game that has online play in the future.
Still holding out hope for universal in-game XMB soundtracks though :D
