Activision Threatens to Drop PS3 if Sony Doesn't Cut the Price

Umm I think you need to learn when each console came out yourself mate.

Xbox 360: 2005
Wii: 2006
PS3 : 2006 (1 month after the Wii)

So the PS3 didn't come out YEARS after the other two lol.

Anyways it is a bit of a crap threat to be honest and doesn't make 100% sense. How does the price of the PS3 affect those that own a PS3 from buying their games? o.O "Amagad PS3 is still £290, meanz I can't buy ma gamez " lol wut?

And lets see what great games we would loose!

World of Warcraft... not on PS3

Call of Duty... be a blow but not a terrible blow, we have Killzone 2 which in my opinion is better than Call of Duty. We also have Resistance 2 with its 8-player co-op (which freaking pwnz). Then there is Battlefield games, which aren't anywhere near as good as CoD I agree but they are still fun.

Guitar Hero... I have Guitar Hero: Metallica, I'm sorted with this franchise. And if the next guitar hero's are as awful as World Tour they can stick that franchise up their arse for all I care.

Tony Hawks... (or has this changed?) Really couldn't give a rats ass about this one. Its been in the bin for years now. There hasn't been a decent Tony Hawk's game since at least #3 (which was on Playstation and N64). I mean I lol'ed so hard when playing a demo of the last one that was on PS3, 360 and Wii. Was trying do some trick on a roof and suddenly a famous skater comes out of nowhere to teach me how to do it. I was like WTF??? Seriously what are the odds of that happening in real life. Ruined the experience for me.

Spiderman... In my opinion the spiderman video games are awful. Well the first one was okay. But other 2 are meh. And who cares about Spiderman when you have Infamous and Prototype? xD

All their other franchises as far as I am aware aren't in development any more.

I dunno bout everyone else but the price of the PS3 isn't slowing me from buying games... i buy games more often that my roommates with the 360 and Wii.

I think Activision is catching the same wave that the companies which release games for Crap Box 360 and PC. They want to make money doing less effort.

The only thing I'm hearing from Activision here is "We don't want to reprogram our games to make them work on PS3 because we make more money doing half work releasing games for Microsoft OS and consoles", and that's the whole truth.

The american game companies were turning lazy over the past years, and progamming games for PS 3 takes hours of hard work and money they don't want to spend. A good example for that are the thousand versions of Guitar hero, Rock Band , etc. Those games don't even have good elaborated graphics, but Activision are gaining millions with them, and are all the same.

I said it before and I'm telling it now: I'm tired of the crappy Activision games and I hope you go bankrupt".

People look at sales numbers and dont understand. When the 360 and Wii have been around for years before the PS3 the sales numbers should go up on the PS3. People that already have the 360 and Wii now start to buy a PS3. If the price is too high they wont. With that in mind you still have a larger base for the 360 and Wii games because a large part of PS3 owners have one or both of the other.

Easy for him to say I bet because is he selling at a loss right out the gate? Be like Sony telling him to drop his game prices from $59 to $39 from the start. Another thing, it's not like the PS3 console has not sold millions of units already and has a big online support.

That and he must not get out and read much. I mean when we see things like this.



That means the system is out selling a unit that cost near twice as less.

So again, we see the PS3 taking over the market. Despite this price issue some think it has. Only here in the states does the "cheaper" consoles have a lead. Americans like cheap. Yet again, look at the sells figures and tell me the PS3 is not once again taking over. This with a full one year later release date.

So I say please Activision, just make you're damn games and stfu about Sony's business plan. They are a billion dollar corporation and you are not. I think they know how to run and market an item without your input of threats.
