Videos: First Dynamic / Animated PS3 Theme is Available Now

LOL those seem pretty cool. I like it, adds a bit of flare. I'd be tempted to pick up one of these when more come out. The G/F might be into it too, you know, something cute and cuddly. Thanks for the news.

Ya the videos of this are pretty sick. Lets just hope they keep pumping out content for this feature hopefully for free.

i installed it (afrika's one) this afternoon... it's pretty cool, but i want more and better free themes in the future :hmm:... i also hope we will be able to create them on ourself.

Sony put them in .pkg... this complicate many things..

Sweet these look great, I can only imagine what the future of dynamic themes will look like...

51N15T3R added the free one here, but since it's a .PKG file it won't install unless downloaded directly from the JP PSN Store.

One of the reasons I submitted the news is that it really sickened me to see people comment that NXE looked better than XMB! Well, back then it was more of a taste/fanboysm thing which one was better, but now with these dynamic themes (let's hope there will be some free - user generated) I think the answer is only one! I'll leave it to you to find out which one for yourself!

can i just put this on my PS3 or i must downloaded directly from the JP PSN Store?

I don't know if there's a way to extract a theme from a PS3 once it's been installed. However, there's tons of guides online about how to make a jp account. And it's free :)

Would be nice if someone could upload it here... since i cannot create an Jap PSN account :(

Also if someone put it here, you can't install it on your ps3 because the new dynamic themes are in .PKG (not .p3t) and you know that .pkg are encrypted files that cannot be opened or installed in the ps3 (since now)...

so THE ONLY WAY TO HAVE THE AFRIKA'S THEME IS GET IT FROM THE JAP PSN!.. :rolleyes:

its cool, i like this them, i will go and create PSN JP ID for download it.

for those who need help setting up a jp account i just took all the pictures so i can make a tutorial for the new firmwares and its quite a bit diffrent and took me a lot of trial and error.

it would be nice if there is a way for users to make these. Its just a looping video in the background I believe, and I like using animated backgrounds on my desktop. So I got a few I'd love to put in a theme for my ps3

This is actually a decent dynamic theme. I like it. Would be good to have it showing replays of goals from fifa or pro evolution.

Not so many dynamic themes so far, but it's still early days :p

Hopefully soon there will be more dynamic themes to choose from. Here's hoping for a Killzone 2 theme :hmm:

Maybe I'm just really cheap, but spending $2.99 on a theme seems like a waste of money too me. They don't even give you a preview option.

i started making the tutorial and even has all the pictures formated and stuff highlighted and writing out the explanation, and i came across this video and its a much better job check it out if you need help.

This must be the first time i've used my jp account in 2 years. Hopefully we will see a few more interesting free ones, i grudge paying for a background even if it is a fancy animated one.

Has sony released a tool to allow people to make their own animated themes yet?

Devs only, as i keep telling people =\ the themes are quite dynamic too *you can control things like time which affects the theme in all but the free one* so there's more to it than meets the eye.
