PSN errors 8001050F (hardware failure) and
80029513 (invalid copyright protection information) have now been
confirmed as remedied by countless users as PSN is restored.
PlayStation 3 models prior to the PS3 Slim unit that launched last fall were unable to launch games or connect to the PlayStation Network.
The date bug appears to have been fixed by Sony, who many feel simply waited it out until their servers updated with the March 2, 2010 date.
For those who are still having problems with syncing
PS3 Trophies, user
eLGee of
NeoGAF has provided a fix, to quote:
1. Disable and re-enable Internet connection, test it and set the clock.
2. Connect to PSN.
3. If any trophies don't show up, start the game, exit and resync the trophies. For some games, you might have to play for a minute or so and then exit.
Finally, Sony has posted an official follow-up
announcement today, as follows:
"We are aware that the internal clock functionality in the PS3 units other than the slim model, recognized the year 2010 as a leap year. Having the internal clock date change from February 29 to March 1 (both GMT), we have verified that the symptoms are now resolved and that users are able to use their PS3 normally.
If the time displayed on the XMB is still incorrect, users are able to adjust time settings manually or via the internet. If we have new information, we will update you through the PlayStation.Blog or PlayStation.com.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."
