Last month we heard a rumor of cross-game chat finally hitting the PlayStation 3 in the upcoming PS3 Firmware 3.10 update.

Today, it appears the rumor has been inadvertently confirmed on the US PlayStation forums (linked above) by Naughty Dog Dev ReklissAbandon in a response to a question about enemy spectating in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

To quote: "I think they wanted people to have fun and enjoy the show since all dead players can talk to each other no matter what team you are on. But I will suggest it anyway.

Not to mention that the next PS3 firmware update is going to allow cross game chat. So if players use that instead of in game communication then they would also be able to communicate enemies positions."

As expected, the post has since been edited and deleted... but a copy of it is below. It looks like another Sony cover-up is in the works PS3 Slim-style! :D

Once again, I'll believe it when I finally see it...

...until then it's just more rumor-based BS.

I do agree with IGN though: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/103/1035167p1.html

This isn't a 100% confirmation, of course, but the fact it came from someone at Naughty Dog and that the post was eventually deleted, seems to be enough evidence something is up.
At least it adds more fuel to the fire... or the pot in this case. :stirthepot:
