Assassin's Creed II is set to be released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America on November 17, 2009 and in PAL regions on November 20, 2009.

The Windows version of the game was originally scheduled to be released at the same time, however Ubisoft later announced that it would be delayed until the first quarter of 2010.

BrutalGamer.com (linked above) reports today that the game will require 2GB of data to be installed on the PlayStation 3's hard drive, meaning the PS3 HDD installation time will total approximately five to six minutes.

To quote: "In our upcoming hands-on feature with Assassin’s Creed 2, courtesy of Ezio’s best mate Keats, it is revealed that the final version of of the game for the PS3 will have around a 2 GB install.

Speaking with the Ubisoft PR rep at the Eurogamer Expo 2009 he confirmed it would take roughly 5 or 6 minutes to install."

Haven't looked around, but sony needs to give us a tool to clone our hdds completely. I dont want to go through all the installations I have done.

I know it's probably not what you had in mind, but when I upgraded my PS3 hard drive I just used the built-in backup utility backup to an external hard drive, installed the new drive and then used the restore utility to restore the backup.

It took a while, but I didn't have to hang around or reinstall anything.

It would be nice to be able to put the new/old HD in an external case and clone it like that, but apart from some extra time it went pretty smooth.

2 gigs doesn't seem too bad. If I remember correctly the fallout 3 game of the year edition had a 6 gig install.

Well at this speed we will soon fill our original HDs and Im willing to upgrade if I can find a way to make a 1:1 backup of my HD, sure I know it will take time to copy everything but are you willing to install everything, not just the files that come with the game discs, you also have to download patches most of the time and thats time consuming.

This dosent suprise me at all. Almost every new Ps3 game these days requires som kind of install. Those who dont require it, tend to have almost unbareable loading times if not installed to harddrive.

However, since you can easy swap your Ps3 hardrive for a bigger one I havent realy minded too much.
