Video: New Wii Exploit? Run Custom Code on an UnModded Wii

Sponsored Links
277w ago - Below is a video titled 'BaNNeRBoMB' by TheRealTracePillars via YouTube, and according to it a new Wii exploit has been found in the system menu allowing you to run custom code on an unmodified Wii console.

To quote: Alright, sorry about the crappy quality but I didn't want to use my capture card because people would call it fake and stuff like that.

This is a PREVIEW of an exploit in the system menu that comex found that will let us run custom code on an UN MODDED WII, which means we can basically set up homebrew on a wii without Twilight Princess, or even a dvd drive. It's just a channel on an SD card.

Currently it is just set up to load the HBC but more will come soon. All of the credit goes to comex for this, I just tested it and filmed the video.

No to this time its coded to RUN the HBC. Its for testing and for the video.
And this means that you could install or use the hbc on a Wii WITHOUT the twilight Hack.

Update:
*New Exploit Author Needs Assistance*

Comex the author of the recently world exclusive we broke a few days back is in need of assistance to get the exploit working on Nintendo Wii's. So if you have a 2.2 or 4.0 it doesn't matter. Here is his request.

If anyone wants to help out do this-- any menu version, HBC already installed, gecko not required:

1. temporarily rename the private folder on SD to something else, if you have one

2. download [Register or Login to view links] and unzip it onto the root of the SD

3. go to the menu, data management (not SD menu if you're on 4.0)

4. go to channels, SD, ensure there is a channel with a blank banner titled "Ninja Gaiden"

5. return immediately to the menu using the back button (not the home button...), go to HBC, and launch it

6. download and run [Register or Login to view links]. it will create a file on your SD with the title "report.txt". Email me a copy of it (comexk@gmail.com)

I to this time dont have tested it.So wait or test it buy your self

but what about the part where it says its only to run homebrew channel? Do you guyz mean instead of having a hbc channel you have that one wich is kind of like a shortcut to homebrew channel? and does it allow every other stuff that was available before to be installed or not?

No its true! So i mean
First the green screen is well knowen for Homebrew. On the psp the same happens also like on the Wii.If you start a game via the Backup Loader apps you will also see a green screen.

Than the SD Card will be read at the moment you klick on the icon.Looks similar like a tiff exploit or something else for me.

And we know that hackers have more exploits available. But they will be all keeped secret till the time comes where the twilight hack will be gone. And this time will be now.......

Thats why I stated if all works out I was just generalizing alot of different factors. I did notice at one point in the video there was no light then a second later a light was on, seems fishy but it could be as simple as someone opening a door or turning on the light while the recording was taken place, who knows. I wasn't really looking for reasons to call it out as my knowledge of the Wii system is not the greatest, so I can't prove that it technically could'nt work either. I'm just hoping for the best, Wii's are fairly priced and have a few good titles, if the price drops soon I might pick one up.
