- In an effort to achieve greater realism, Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi
says his team met with clothing manufacturers to ensure authentic in-game apparel.
To quote: "The footwear and gloves the main character wears are all based on real items," said Takeuchi, in an undated interview
on Capcom's Japanese site.
"We contacted the makers of those items to find out all the little details that go into making them, that way players don't have a sense of the game being completely divorced from reality."
As Takeuchi puts it, players will be able to see individual clothing fibers so that characters will breath in a more life-like fashion, presumably so the game will freak you out even more when a Zombie dog jumps through a window.
"Resident Evil 5 will occupy a unique place in the gaming world," added the veteran producer. "We are going to shock everybody."
Here's hoping it does when the game arrives on March 13, 2009 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
